In order to take advantage of some of these services, you must be registered with Disabilities Services. Call (612) 624-4037 for additional information.
Libraries to U (formerly Lumina to U)
A document delivery service provided to mobility- or visually-impaired students to ensure access to library materials. Service includes delivery of books or photocopies of articles to the campus address or the circulation desk of choice. There is a small fee for article photocopying. Contact Disabilities Services Office at (612) 624-4037 to speak with a disability specialist to determine eligibility for this service.

Proxy Cards
Any student, staff, and faculty member with a mobility or visual impairment may request a proxy card for his or her personal assistant to charge out library materials. For further information or to pick up an application form, contact the Circulation Desk at Wilson Library, (612) 624-3321. Students may need to register with the Disabilities Services Office, 16 Johnston Hall, (612) 624-4037, FAX: (612) 625-5572.


Bio-Medical Library

Availability of Maps to the Library
Paper: available at library service desks

Access to Collections
Paging hours: 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Assistance available: Free paging of items; fee is charged for photocopies. Inquire at Circulation Desk or Circulation and Reserve Desk (2nd Floor). If staff is available, a few items will be paged while patron waits. Otherwise, turnaround time ranges from 1 to 2 days, depending on the number of items.

Main entrances (2nd and 3rd floors) have automatic doors.
After hours: 3rd-floor entrance is locked after 7 p.m.; use 2nd floor entrance

An elevator is located in the lobby of Diehl Hall and another is inside the library; building map is available at sevice desks

Located on 2nd and 4th floors; bulding map is availabe at service desks

Magrath Library

Paging hours: 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday; other times when backup desk coverage is available.
Assistance available: We will enlarge all materials for regular-price copying.

Surface lots: There is no free disability parking on the St. Paul Campus;
Nearest lots: Lot 102, Lot 104.

Use the entrance on the northeast side of the building on Buford Ave., closest to the VoTech building.

The elevator is located in the main lobby.

During library hours: 1st and 2nd floors; when the library is closed, basement.

Building Entrances
There are four building entrances. The wheelchair accessible entrance is located on the Pleasant Street side of the building, with the ramp entrance near Johnston Hall. There is also an entrance from Northrop Mall. There are two additional entrances on the Basement Level from the tunnels between Johnston and Smith Halls.

Access to Collections
Paging of materials (students must be registered with Disability Services Office)
  • Book Stacks: On demand paging from the stack is available through the Circulation Desk, 1st floor:
    Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Saturday: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Sunday: 12 noon to 5 p.m. If you cannot come to the library during these hours, call the Circulation Desk at (612) 624-3321 during paging hours and request the materials be paged and held for you at the Circulation Desk. If possible, paging requests should be submitted in advance, either in person or by telephone.
  • Periodicals: Staff at the Reserve/Periodicals Desk will page needed items, set up microfilm readers, and bring items to the photocopy service. If possible, call in advance to (612) 624-6576 to notify staff when you will arrive. Up to five volumes can be held for a patron.
  • Reserve Reading: Up to three items can be held for a patron. If possible, call in advance to (612) 624-6576. For further information or to request exceptions regarding the number of items and length of loan period, contact a full-time staff member during daytime business hours (Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.)

Building Entrances
There are two public entrances: first floor and basement level, both have automatic doors. A basement tunnel connects Wilson Library to Blegen Hall, Carlson School of Management, Ferguson Hall, Humphrey Center, and Social Sciences Building
Elevators
Elevators are located in the center of the building and are wheelchiar accessible.
Restrooms
Restrooms are located on all floors except the first floor. See Wilson floor plans, available at the Information Desk, for locations.

Architecture and Landscape Architecture Library

Availability of Maps to the Library

Access to Collections
Library hours are Monday - Thursday, 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Saturday - Sunday, 12 noon to 4 p.m. Assistance accessing materials can be given during those hours.

Nearest ramps: Church Street Garage, Fourth Street Ramp, Huron Blvd. Parking Complex
Building Entrances
A ramped entrance is located on the west side, just south of the main entrance between the Architecture building and the Civil and Mineral Engineering building.
Elevators
An elevator is located in the northeast corner of the building
Restrooms
Restrooms are located on the first floor: women's in the northwest corner of the builidng, men's in the southeast corner.

The elevator is located in the middle of the building and is ramp-accessible from the second floor through the north entrance.
Restrooms
Restrooms are located on the east end of the 1st floor; one needs to take the elevator from any other floor.
